Abstract        在磁共振成像研究中,标准模板被普遍应用于人脑结构和功能的图像配准、自动化分割、统计分析等过程中。目前,国际上最常用的脑模板基于西方成人群体构建,已有研究表明:在儿童青少年相关儿科研究中使用成人模板进行配准会引入显著的系统误差。为消除中国脑发育研究中的这种类似误差,本研究基于我国464 名年龄处于6 岁至17 岁的正常儿童青少年的磁共振影像数据,应用“高级空间标准化工具包”构建了年龄间隔为1 岁的磁共振结构像模板。这些中国儿童青少年结构脑模版可以用于改善目前儿科研究中的图像处理和分析效果,提高对儿童青少年大脑计算测量的精确性。
Other AbstractStandard brain template is widely used in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) studies as the target of spatially normalizing individual brain images at group level. It has been shown that the templates constructed with adult brain images are not suitable for pediatric imaging studies since significant age-related systematic bias would be introduced in the registration. To avoid this, we constructed age-specific brain templates based on Chinese pediatric data. MRI images from a neurodevelopmental sample of 464 healthy participants (6-17 years) were obtained from three imaging sites. As set of age-specific brain templates (age-interval = 1 year) was generated with the Advanced Normalization Tools (ANTs). We expect that these brain templates would improve the situation that no population- and age-specific templates exist in Chinese. In addition, we also constructed the developmental trajectories of gray matter, white matter and cerebrospinal fluid, the results demonstrating the dynamic changing of brain structure during development proved the necessity of age-specific templates. Meanwhile, the deformation analysis showed that large deformation primarily locates in the association networks across the neurodevelopment. All these findings necessitated the need of age-specific structural brain templates for neurodevelopmental studies on Chinese population.
