The decrease of sustained attention may induce the increase of response time and decrease of effective monitoring rate. Mental fatigue is one of the key factors cause the decrease of sustained attention. Therefore, the paper plans to study the mental fatigue influence on sustained attention and identification method for mental fatigue. The main study content and fruit is listed as follows.
Firstly, using ERP (event-relative potentials) method, a dual task experiment paradigm was adopted to explore the cognitive activity difference between fatigue and un-fatigue status by compare the latencies and amplitudes of P1、N1、P2、N2、P300.According to the experiment result, we concluded the fatigue couldn’t influence the early stage of visual stimuli processing .However, certain higher-level cognitive processes were injured by fatigue, e. g,. the attentional resources that can be allocated to the secondary task stimuli, the cognitive control or strategy making in the dual-task experiment ,and evaluating or categorizing the stimulus and context.
Secondly, based on two factors mixed design, the latencies and amplitudes of P1, N1, P2, N2, P300 were compared under different fatigue levels (fatigue and un-fatigue) and mental workload levels(high mental workload and low mental workload).
Thirdly, based on two electrodes (Oz, Pz), a rapid processing algorithm was constructed to filter the original EEG signals and remove the artifact. The Fisher Linear Discriminant Model was used to establish an index which has a high correlation coefficient with the behavior performance indexes such as response time, distance between target ball and track circle.
Fourthly, a fatigue levels dividing method was proposed according to behavioral performance indexes .Three time domain indexes and five frequency domain were selected to construct a fatigue identification model based on SVM .
