附注	Objective To explore whether type 2 diabetes （NIDDM） is associated with the impairment of memory function in the elderly. Methods 30 patients with type 2 diabetes and 30 controls, controlling age （6585）, education level, relative disease and other factors, which is likely to affect cognitive function, participated the study. Four types of cognitive tasks, including recognition of meaningless figures, digital symbol substitute, action memory （subject performed task） and mental arithmetic （digital span）, which assessed different levels and aspects of memory function and were found sensitive to aging process to different extent, were administered. Results After multivariate adjustment, NIDDM patients displayed no difference on performances of digital symbol, meaningless figures and mental arithmetic. Action memory experiments show an experimental dissociation, which both free recall of well-integrated items with enactment support and poor-integrated items without enactment were affected by NIDDM; while cued recall performances revealed no difference compared with those of control subjects. Conclusions Cognitive impairments in type 2 diabetes patients were associated with normal aging and impaired action memory, which characterized the pathological dysfunction specifically.
