Other Abstract | The present study investigated the effect of social categorization and social contact on the migrant children’s academic help- seeking. 480 migrant children in school responded to the questionnaire. The results showed that:( 1) Ages and the salary of children’s fathers both significantly affect the migrant children’s executive help- seeking, but don’t significantly affect other strategies.( 2) Immigrant years of the children do not affect their academic help- seeking significantly. The results partly support the hypothesis of social categorization, but don’t support the hypothesis of social contact. |
