摘要

Compared with the women concerning with fatness at average level, some studies indicate that women concerning with fatness at high level show cognitive bias that they favor the early-stage selective processing of body words. But others can't get the same results, finding no difference between the two types of women. In view of the weakness of behavioral measures, event-related potentials (ERPs) were used to study the electrophysiological correlates of the cognitive bias towards body information. The experimental group consists of 14 women concerning with fatness at high level. The control group consists of 14 women concerning with fatness at average level. The two groups were asked to complete two tasks: the visual shift task and the recognition task. The repetition effects were measured in both groups, using the "fat pictures", "thin pictures" and "neutral pictures". Results showed no difference between groups and the repetition effects were only elicited by "fat pictures" between 250 and 1000ms in both groups. Therefore, the difference wave may reflect that negative physical self-schema that could be activated by fat information in both groups.
