At present, China has a huge number of people with disabilities, they have a huge rehabilitation needs. physical therapy, As one of the measures of rehabilitation, the current domestic practitioners一physical therapist uneven quality, the service capacity and service levels of them still need to improve. This study attempts to explore the physical therapist competency, provide a reference for physical therapist selection, education and training, so as to improve the service quality of physical therapy.

this study, the first step is to collect the elements and development the initial model. Searching physical therapist competency-related literature, literature analysis obtained 57 physical therapist competency elements; reference behavioral event interviews six experts to carry out interviews, through coding analysis, get 51 physical therapist competency elements; the literature analysis and interview summary order, a total of 73 competency elements for physical therapists to obtain, and initial construction of the competency model for physical therapist,that includes four domains, nine dimensions.

The second step is drawn up questionnaire, collect data, analysis to validate the model. We developed "'physical therapist competency assessment questionnaire" based on 73 competency elements form first step, and survey rehabilitation practitioners by questionnaire, according to available data, across item analysis, reliability and一 validity analysis, the final behavioral questionnaire contains 67 questions, and 4 questions for polygraph; and adjusting the model build in the first step. According to the data by survey methods used structural equation modeling to verify the adjusted physical therapist competency model.

Definitive physical therapist competency model, including four domains: knowledge; skills, abilities, traits or motives, knowledge domain including two dimensions: medical knowledge, policies and norms; skill domain including two dimensions: evaluation skills, intervention skills; field capabilities domain including four dimensions: education management ability, professional development ability, the ability to consult and cooperate; trait or motive was a single dimension.
