Abstract申请人主要利用心理物理学方法和脑成像技术研究人类嗅觉,从三个方面系统开展研究:1)嗅知觉的性质;2)人类化学信号对行为的影响及相应的加工机制;3)嗅觉与其它感知觉系统以及情绪系统间的交互。迄今以第一作者/通讯作者身份在国际顶尖期刊上发表论文10篇,包括3篇Current Biology (2009, 2010, 2014)、2篇Journal of Neuroscience (2008, 2012)、2篇Psychological Science (2009a, 2009b)等,并搭建了我国首个也是目前唯一一个人类嗅觉的研究平台。研究成果不仅得到了同行的认可,被 Science,Trends in Cognitive Sciences等引用和述评,也引起了包括The New York Times, National Geographic, Nature在内的国际主流媒体的广泛关注。
Other AbstractCombining psychophysics with brain imaging techniques, the applicant studies human olfaction, with particular interest in 1) the properties of human olfactory perception; 2) the influence of human chemosignals on behavior, its underlying mechanism; and 3) the interplays between olfaction and other sensory (e.g. vision) and emotional systems. She is the first and/or corresponding author on 10 papers published in high-profile journals, including 3 in Current Biology (2009, 2010, 2014), 2 in Journal of Neuroscience (2008, 2012), and 2 in the highest ranked empirical journal in Psychology — Psychological Science (2009a, 2009b). She has built the first and to date only human olfaction laboratory in China. Her work is highly regarded by peer researchers and is cited by papers published in Science and Trends in Cognitive Sciences. The findings she made have been covered by The New York Times and National Geographic, and featured as Nature Research Highlights.

Project Intro.我们主要利用心理物理学方法和脑成像技术研究人类嗅觉,围绕:1)嗅知觉的性质、2)人类化学信号对行为的影响及相应的加工机制、3)嗅觉与其他感知觉系统及情绪系统间的交互三个方面开展了七项研究。我们发现:对互为对映异构体的气味分子进行分辨训练带来的知觉增益基本局限于训练的手性气味对和进行训练的一侧鼻孔;儿童嗅觉辨别能力的发展与气味单质间的结构相似性有关,且这一相关独立于儿童对气味的熟悉度;两种人类类固醇--雄甾二烯酮和雌甾四烯--可启动目标人群(异性恋女性和男性)对潜在配偶(男性和女性)积极情绪的再认;鼻喷加压素不影响对雄甾二烯酮和雌甾四烯所携带的性别信息的解码,鼻喷催产素则表现出了调制效应,这一调制效应是剂量依赖、非单调性的,且依赖于接收者的社交娴熟性,而社交娴熟性又在相当程度上反映了内源性催产素水平;催产素也以类似的方式参与了个体对社会互动的时间知觉;气味以客体一致性的方式在闪烁融合阈限附近调节视觉物体的可见度,并相应的造成对该客体的主观时距的延长,但并不改变个体的时间知觉敏感性,与视觉客体一致的气味(相较不一致的气味)带来的闪烁客体可见度的变化伴随着右侧颞叶区域在客体呈现约150-300ms后与客体闪烁频率一致的神经振荡能量的增强,这一增强独立于视觉意识;对面孔情绪和气味愉悦性的编码在意识层面下是相互交织的,不论面孔可见或不可见,杏仁核的活动均表现出了面孔表情和气味愉悦性的交互。总体来看,这些结果表明外周机制关键性的参与了经验对嗅觉编码的塑造;初步建立了人类化学交流与神经内分泌因素间的关联;提示右侧颞叶存在一个可依据嗅觉信息对上游视觉输入进行动态时间滤波的神经网络;佐证了嗅觉和情绪系统间的演化亲缘性,并表明不存在严格的感官特异的效价表征。
