摘要

The current study aimed to examine the mediating effect of work affect between abusive supervision and mental health of employees. In total, 791 employees completed the questionnaire survey including abusive supervision scale, work affect scale, and the eight-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-8). The results of the structural equation model indicated that: Abusive supervision showed a significantly negative correlation with high-activation pleasant affect (HAPA) and low-activation pleasant affect (LAPA) and a significantly positive correlation with high-activation unpleasant affect (HAUA) and low-activation unpleasant affect (LAUA). HAPA are significantly and negatively correlated with depression level. Both HAUA and LAUA are negatively correlated with PHQ-8. Moreover, HAPA, HAUA and LAUA together mediated the effect of abusive supervision on employee's mental health. In conclusion, abusive supervision had a negative effect on employees' work affect and mental health, and work affect mediated the negative effect of abusive supervision on employees' mental health.
