Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) is one of the most common oral and maxillofacial diseases. Chronic pain of TMD often brings anxiety, depression and other negative emotions to patients. From the perspective of ego-depletion, this study explores the internal mechanism of the correlation between TMD chronic pain and psychological factors, so as to provide theoretical guidance and scientific basis for medical staff to diagnose and treat the disease more comprehensively and accurately, and to promote the early recovery of patients. In the first study, 259 patients with TMD were selected to explore whether the duration of pain and pain expectation had an effect on the degree of ego-depletion. In the second study, 30 patients with TMD chronic pain were selected to analyze the correlation between the pain pattern and ego-depletion, mainly including the influence on three dimensions of cognition, behavior and emotion, and to analyze the interaction between several variables in the pain pattern. The main research are as follows: there is no significant difference in the degree of ego-depletion between the patients with TMD chronic pain and non-chronic TMD pain. The degree of ego-depletion of the patients with TMD pain unpredictability is higher than that of the patients with predictable pain. The pain anticipation of the patients with TMD chronic pain has an impact on the cognition and degree of pain of the patients, and the concentration of patients' pain in the morning will affect the mood of patients.Main research conclusion: the pain anticipation of TMD patients is an important factor that affects the degree of ego-depletion, in the clinical diagnosis and treatment process, patients with unpredictable pain are more likely to have psychological problems than patients with predictable pain, and the time of pain is concentrated in the morning, that is patients with "heavy in the morning and light in the evening" rhythm characteristics suggest the possibility of depression tendency. Therefore, we should pay attention to the way of communication with patients, and try to cooperate with appropriate psychological counseling to strengthen the psychological support. The degree of pain of patients with unpredictable pain will be more prominent, and relieving the pain of patients is the first problem to be solved. The inquiry of pain anticipation and pain pattern has certain guiding significance for the diagnosis and treatment of TMD patients.
