With the progress of society and the rapid development of China's economy, China has increasingly high requirements on the production of oil, coal mining, construction and other large industrial industries. While emphasizing high productivity, it is more important to ensure the safety and mental health of employees. The occurrence of safety accidents not only brings harm to the rights and interests of employees, but also brings economic losses and adverse effects to the enterprise and the society. As is known to all, safety performance is a key index to measure the level of safety management and business performance of an enterprise. How to effectively improve the safety performance of enterprises has become an important issue in academic research and enterprise management. As the core force of the enterprise, the leader plays a decisive role in the control of production safety management. Different leadership styles of leaders have also become an important factor affecting the safety performance of enterprises. In the research on leadership style at home and abroad, there are more researches on transactional leadership, transformational leadership, ethical leadership, authentic leadership and other leadership styles with positive characteristics, and few researches explore the negative impact of transformational leadership behavior. This article will take 917 front-line employees from 107 teams in 3 branches of an oil field as the research object, on the basis of literature at home and abroad, discusses the research team level of differentiated transformational leadership and individual level of employee's safety performance relationship, and build on efficacy as mediating variable of differentiated transformational leadership on employee safety performance across the hierarchical theory model. The correlation test of the hypothesis model shows that the differentiated transformational leadership has a significant negative correlation with employee safety performance and efficacy. Efficacy plays a cross-layer mediating role in the relationship between differentiated transformational leadership and employee safety performance. The results of this study prove that the differentiated transformational leadership can have a negative impact on employee safety performance through the mediating role of efficacy, which provides a reference basis for subsequent relevant studies, and also provides suggestions for leaders to play a greater role in enterprise safety production management.
