其他摘要 | Adaptation is defined as a psychological process in which individuals respond tovarious requirements and challenges in daily life, as well as a behavior in whichindividuals respond to the demands in the environment. By adapting to theenvironment, individuals can achieve personal growth and development. Schooladaptation is the result of interaction between students, school environment andschool activities, including successfully achieving academical goal, learning tocommunicate with others, establishing correct outlook on life and values, andacquiring healthy personality. In the past, the research of school adaptation mainlyfocused on primary and secondary school students and undergraduates, while littleattention were paid to vocational college students. Vocational college students,studying in three-year colleges and vocational colleges, are an important part ofvocational education in China. Based on the development of vocational education, thecharacteristics of vocational education environment and the characteristics of learning,psychology and social identity of vocational college students, this study explores theconnotation of school adaptation of vocational college students, and develops aquestionnaire of school adaptation of higher vocational freshmen.
In study 1, the connotation of school adaptation of vocational college studentswas summarized by qualitative and quantitative analysis of the interview data ofvocational college students, teachers and administrators, by concept mapping method.Based on the theoretical exploration of study 1, study 2 conducted the developmentand reliability and validity test of the school adaptation questionnaire for highervocational freshmen.
The results are as follows:
1. School adaptation of vocational college students is defined as a positive statethat the vocational college students emotionally and behaviorally adapted to thevocational education environment, and a progress that they finally gain personalgrowth through academical adaptation, ideological adaptation and daily life adaptation.
2. The School Adaptation Questionnaire for Higher Vocational Freshmencontains 22 questions, including 7 dimensions: theoretical learning adaptation,practical learning adaptation, learning emotional experience, interpersonal adaptation,school environment adaptation, vocational education adaptation and professionaladaptation. The reliability and validity of the questionnaire conforms to psychometricsstandards and can be used to evaluate the adaptation of higher vocational collegefreshmen. |
