摘要	China has been distinguished as a face culture in the world. Are there provincial variations of face culture within China and why? Our aim is to explore within-China variations of face-reserving and its ecological antecedents. Using the justice archives database, we first made up the face-reserving homicide database and got 2,900 cases distributed unevenly all over China. Then it was found that climate demand predicted the prevalence of face-reserving homicide to the extent that more harsh climate demand led to higher face-reserving homicide.
