其他摘要 | Parents do not randomly name their children, but are influenced by the social values of the time. The name, psychology, and behavior of a child are all influenced by the psychological traits of their parents and the socio-economic status of their family. Therefore, we attempt to explain the influence of social culture by studying the psychological mechanisms behind the uniqueness of names. We speculate that parents' naming preferences affect the uniqueness of children's names, so we assume that the uniqueness of children's names can be predicted through parents' naming preferences. Therefore, developing targeted and effective mental health measurement tools has important theoretical significance and practical value. The degree to which a scale is scientific and standardized is primarily dependent on it following psychometric methods in its development process, as well as its ability to meet key psychometric standards in terms of reliability and validity. Therefore, this article mainly discusses the development strategies and methods of the parental naming preference questionnaire, as well as the reliability and validity of the scale.
Firstly, a practical survey was conducted on the factors considered in naming parents based on interview surveys. Based on the relevant information obtained from the survey, a preliminary questionnaire was developed, consisting of 14 questions. Secondly, a preliminary survey questionnaire was used to predict 200 primary school students and their parents. Based on the results of question quality analysis and exploratory factor analysis, four questions with substandard question quality and factor loading that did not meet measurement standards were excluded. The remaining 10 questions formed the final questionnaire. This process has preliminarily established three dimensions of the naming preference questionnaire, which are: goal, avoidance, and tradition.
Finally, a confirmatory factor analysis was conducted on the data of 228 formally tested individuals. The correlation between the total scale and various dimensions was significant and overall, exhibiting a moderate to high range from 0.70 to 0.85.The results suggest that the questionnaire created in this study for gauging naming preferences possesses robust structural validity. It shows an overall internal consistency coefficient of 0.814 and each dimensional internal consistency coefficient ranges from 0.711 to 0.905. Furthermore, with a total questionnaire split-half reliability of 0.906 and each dimensional split-half reliability between 0.782 and 0.905, it meets all the prerequisite measurement standards. The main conclusions of this study are as follows:
(1) The naming preference questionnaire developed includes three dimensions: goal, avoidance, and tradition.
(2) The reliability and validity of the developed naming preference questionnaire was tested, and all the indicators met the psychometric requirements, indicating that the reliability and validity of this questionnaire is good. |
