Depression has gradually become the main mental health problem of adolescents, with a high incidence and great harm. Adolescence is the key period of individual development, depressive symptoms in the population showed an increasing trend year by year, and the total detection rate was 28.4%. Therefore, it is extremely important to explore the causes of adolescent depression and find more effective and low recurrence treatment.
This study is divided into two parts: quantitative and case study. On the basis of relevant theories and existing studies, the quantitative research constructs a moderated mediation model of parental psychological control's influence on adolescent depression, and deeply examines the mechanism of parental psychological control's influence on adolescent depression. The study subjects were from Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, and a total of 1046 adolescents were collected. Independent sample t test and analysis of variance were used to test the difference of different demographic variables. Then SPSS25.0 was used to test the mediating effect of negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies and the moderating effect of competency-dependent self-esteem. In the part of case study, the family treatment cases of depressed adolescents are selected to discuss the process of adolescent depression intervention.
The results of study 1 are as follows: (1) Correlation analysis shows that parental psychological control, ability contingent self-esteem, negative emotion regulation strategies and depression are significantly positively correlated; (2) Parental psychological control has a significant positive effect on adolescent depression, and negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies play a mediating role in the influence of parental psychological control on adolescent depression; (3) Competency-based self-esteem positively regulates the relationship between parental psychological control and adolescent depression. With the increase of competency-based self-esteem, the effect of parental psychological control on adolescent depression is also enhanced.
The results of study 2 are as follows: (1) Through the emotionally oriented EFFT family therapy process, it is found that children are difficult to express their true feelings and thoughts due to the damaged parent-child attachment and negative emotions, which becomes a challenge in the treatment process; (2) It is found that the negative emotions produced by the parents in the upbringing make them unable to perform their functions well, and it is necessary to take the parental responsibility under the support of the counselor to help the children improve their emotional problems. (3) Parental psychological control of emotional factors and attachment relationship can change children's negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies and effectively improve depression.
Conclusion: Paternal psychological control can directly influence the depression of adolescents, and can also influence the depression of children through negative emotion regulation strategies; Ability contingent self-esteem regulates the direct path of parental psychological control and depression; The higher the level of competence contingent self-esteem, the more significant the influence of parental psychological control on adolescent depression; Parental psychological control affects children's mood, emotion, sense of self and interaction mode through negative cognitive emotion regulation strategies; Emotion-oriented EFFT family therapy is an effective intervention for children's depression by changing the parenting style of parents' psychological control and cognitive emotion regulation strategies.
