其他摘要 | Under the background of deepening institutional reforms in public service units, employees face significantly increased work-life stress. Sleep quality, as a critical physiological indicator of stress response, may play a key mediating role in maintaining mental health. Existing studies predominantly focus on the relationships among stress, sleep, and mental health, yet the mediating mechanisms of sleep remain unclear, and evidence-based intervention research for this population requires urgent strengthening. This study utilizes a mediation model that examines the relationships between stress, sleep, and psychological health. TThrough two studies, this research reveals how sleep mediates the relationship between stress and psychological health, and it verifies the effectiveness of a hypnosis-based stress reduction intervention. Study One employs a cross-sectional research design and includes 1,002 employees from various institutions in Shijiazhuang City as research participants. This study employs several assessment tools, including a self-assessment stress scale, the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, and a 90-item Symptom Self-Rating Scale. These tools comprehensively evaluate the stress levels, sleep quality, and psychological health of the participants. It analyzes the relationship between stress, sleep, and psychological health of the employees and explores the mediating effect of sleep between stress and psychological health. Building on the findings from Study One, Study Two involved 32 employees from a specific institution, who were voluntarily divided into an observation group (n=15) and a control group (n=17).The observation group received a standardized hypnosis program once a week for 8 weeks, while the control group did not receive any intervention. After 2 months, the assessment was conducted again to observe the intervention effect. The results of Study One indicated that there were significant positive correlations between sleep quality scores, mental health scores and stress levels (ps < 0.01). The mediation effect analysis showed that sleep partially mediated the relationship between stress levels and mental health (p < 0.001). The results of Study Two revealed that before the intervention, there were no significant differences between the observation group and the control group in all indicators. After 8 weeks of hypnosis-based stress reduction intervention, the observation group scored lower than the control group in stress level scores, subjective sleep quality, sleep onset latency, sleep disorders, daytime dysfunction and total sleep scores, as well as mental health status (p < 0.001, ps < 0.05, p < 0.001). The scores of stress, sleep and mental health in the observation group decreased after the intervention compared with those before the intervention (ps < 0.05). There were no significant changes in the scores of stress, sleep and mental health in the control group before and after the intervention (ps > 0.05). This study confirms significant positive correlations among stress, sleep quality, and mental health in public service unit employees, supporting the partial mediating role of sleep in the stress-mental health pathway. Hypnotherapy provides a novel non-pharmacological intervention to alleviate stress, improve sleep, and enhance mental health. We recommend integrating stress management into occupational health systems and advocate for future research to explore mechanisms using multimodal assessment technologies and develop comprehensive stress-sleep-mental health management programs. |
