摘要	Experiments were conducted to find out the best display format for chinese text on WWW pages. One group of subjects was assigned to complete a keyword searching task and another group to finish a reading comprehension task. Essays were displayed on web pages with different font types and line spacing. Subjects' preference of display formats and their psychological functions were tested after that. The study of the correlations between subjects' performance, their preference and their psychological functions shows why people perform differently in handling Chinese text on Web browser.
