| Abstract | The effect of information external representation on Bayesian reasoning was studied from the perspective of distributed cognition. A 2 (Exemplar number: 50, 100) × 2 (Representation manner: frequency format, exemplar format) between-subjects design was used, and probability format was set as control condition. The results showed that: a) The performance of frequency format was the best among the three different external representation manners, b) exemplar number did not have any main effect, and c) there was significant practice effect in the exemplar format condition. |
