摘要	Focus is one of the most commonly used terms in present-day speech and language research, but there are still several controversial theories about focus. Particularly, the applications of these theories in the Chinese research are not sufficient. Comprehensive analysis is given to the general study of focus, and the article indicates the function of the focus theories in some special usages of Chinese. Meanwhile, the definition, mark, classification, quantity and function of focus are compared and synthesized. In addition to the traditional perspective a new point of view that the focus theories are combined with the practical Chinese was provided.
