AbstractConceptual combination involves accessing two or more concepts and forms a new concept. The present study justified the effects of categories and feature types of sub-concepts on interpretation of conceptual combination by using path analysis (χ2(3) = 6.64, p = .08, RMSEA = .087, CFI = .985, TLI = .951). The results showed living things had more entity features, and artifacts had more situation features. Living thing combinations got more property interpretations and artifact combinations got more relation interpretations, and the entity feature of the first sub-concept influenced property interpretation.
