摘要Metacognitive monitoring plays an important role on learning from text. This study examined the effectiveness of text structure and reading time on metacognitve monitoring. The 2×2 between-subjects design was adopted. The independent variables were text structure (hypertext vs. linear text) and reading time (limited time vs. self-paced leaning time). After reading the text, subjects predicted text performance. Then they were given multiple-choice test. Finally subjects made the confidence judgments on test. Results showed that both text structure and reading time had distinct influence on metacognitive monitoring.
