AbstractMemorizing English words is the basic of learning English. The experiment of memorizing English words that we made on 240 students of four grades at middle schools shows that the second-year students of junior middle school, who have a similar way of memorizing Chinese words, have formed the stable organization of memory and mental dictionary. The memory effect of the third-year students in junior middle school and the first-year students in senior middle school is better. Within the limits of organization of memory and mental dictionary, the memory effect of the first-year students in junior middle school is not good.
