Innovation value moderates the effects of transformational leadership on organizational commitment

AbstractThis research explored the relationship between innovation value, transformational leadership and organizational commitment. We investigated 3844 employees of 81 institutes, which belong to Chinese Academy of Sciences. The results based on HLM showed that transformational leadership had a positive effect on organizational commitment at the individual level, and that innovation value at the organizational level moderated the effect of transformational leadership on organizational commitment. Compared to organizations with low innovation value, in the organizations with high innovation value transformational leadership had a strong effects on organizational commitment.
