Self-regulation is an essential cognitive ability for human’s well being. The neural mechanism of self-regulation and the factors that affect the development of self-regulation are the hot research topics. The project will explore these topics from the aspects of individual differences (ages, genders and intellectual levels), and it will also investigate how emotion regulation interplays with cognition regulation during children’s self-regulation behaviors. Last, but not least important, the project will investigate which kinds of attention training will improve children’s self-regulation abilities. The research findings of the project will contribute to the self-regulation theories, and the clinical product of this project will provide some practical methods on the promotion of children’s self-regulation.
