Objective： To probe into the meaning of ＂the wounded healer＂ and the characteristics of the counselors in childhood traumas and life events. Methods： 90 counselors were selected as researched group and 60 non-counselors as compared group, both of which used CTQ and LES. Results： Scores of physical abuse in non-counselors were significantly higher than those in counselors （P〈0.05）. Researched group：Scores of 5 subscales of CTQ showed insignificant differences of sex and age;Married counselors had higher scores than the unmarried ones in positive life events （P〈0.05）; Scores of emotional abuse, physical abuse, emotional neglect, physical neglect and childhood traumas had markedly negative correlation with education years （P〈0.05,0.01,0.001,0.05,0.01）; Scores of physical abuse and positive life events of counselors from countryside were higher than those from cities. The result of multiple estimation of CTQ and negative life events were related. Conclusion： Compared with non-counselors ,the counselors experience less childhood traumas ,but their subjective perceptions were higher than the former, which may be related to having activated their inherent archetype of ＂The Wounded Healer＂.
